On 23/4/2014 Wednesday, we have a presentation about presenting what we wanted to do for our assignment.

Inspiration for the Storyline

For the storyline that I have posted, I actually get inspired by lyrics from a Japanese song named "Trick and Treat". It's quite catchy with children's voice singing it, but when reading the lyrics and understanding the lyrics, it is basically a story which is quite twisted and have a dark side of it. Basically is about two dolls turn into human form and revenge on their master for abandoned them.

The lyrics that inspired me are these few sentences (translated from Japanese to English):

“When you take the blindfold off, there’s no more pleasant creations

  You will see that your hands are tied and bound, dragging at my heels”

(For me, this sentence sounds like when a children was being abducted with their eyes blindfolded, once they take it out there will be no more fascinating things)

“My, my, you bad kid, how dare you wake so early?

  If your blindfold comes off, then should I blind you instead?”

(It sounds like a punishment or torturing when a victim did something wrong)

“Eat these sweets, they tempt you into believing false hospitality”

(It's like the candy that the victim receive will give them a short happiness only)

Storyline for Assignment

For this assignment, I decided to do a short animation with a title (temporary) "Don't Go Near to Stranger".

And here are the storyline.

A little girl was walking on a street alone, and then a stranger approaches her by giving her an ice cream. At first she hesitates, after the stranger keeps asking her to take the ice cream, she then takes it.

When the girl lick on the ice cream, suddenly there’s one car stop beside her, a man’s arm stretch out and catch that children into the girl. The stranger just stand there quietly, and grin like a Cheshire cat. He then takes out another candy, and walks away.

Introduction to Metaio Creator

In this lesson, we are introduce to Metaio Creator which we can create some thing called augmented reality.

Create a new project with a new track.

After insert in a 3D model, then play it through metaio player, it will show it through the player when it detect a map.

Insert another 3D model for another tryout.

The two pictures above show the result when show it through video.

After that, we try using our mobile phone to scan the code and below are the result.

Then we try to use one app in our mobile phone call metaio toolbox, which use to track a real life thing then edit it. And here are the result which I track my mouse as a map.

Finalize Idea

After discussion with my lecturer, I have finally focus on one idea on what I wanted to do in my assignment. I have decide to create a short animation with the duration of 30s, it is about Don't Go Near to Stranger, this is to give an awareness on children trafficking.

For this animation, I plan to do a black and white animation and only highlight on some important items, such as candy, snacks, etc. Then use the technique of augmented reality by scanning on one picture of a little girl or an image, then then the animation will start playing from there.

Ideas for Assignment Part 3

Here are the ideas that I have so far for my assignments:

1) Encyclopedia of extinction animal (Drag and drop)
   - Make it into E-Book with some interactive such as, drag an extinction animal to know more about          that certain animal and let children know more about some endangered animal.

2) Ancient China Clothing (Drag and Drop)
    - Introduce the ancient china's clothing for both boys and girls. Make it interactive by dragging the           clothes and let them wear, after wearing it, it will have a simple explanation about the clothing.

3) How food process after we ate?
    - Make it into E-Book by adding some parallax scrolling in it, as it scroll down the food will follow.         When it reach a particular organ, it will explain the usage of that particular organ.

4) Don't go near to stranger
    - Make it into animation which give a lesson to children that what will happen if they follow a                 stranger or take something from stranger. This one will be kind of show a dark side.

5) Story Telling
    - Tell the story of Puteri Gunung Ledang by making it into a storybook with some interactive button         in it.

Ideas of Assignment Part 2

Then I do some research on some other parallax scrolling.
